Welcome To Our Church!

Dear Christian Friend,

We are committed to leading the unsaved to Christ and to strengthening believers in their faith and service to the Lord. Our ministries consist of the Church, Serene Park Retirement Centre and the Glen Play Centre & Pre-primary School.

Through this website you will discover what we believe, who we are, and how we are endeavouring to glorify God in all we do; and where to find us! If you would like to know more, then please contact us.

God is the focal point of our ministry and as a family of God we endeavour to create a loving and supportive environment for all who come to our church, and to play a meaningful role in our community.

You are invited to join us in our worship services and any other outreach so you can get to know us better. You will be a stranger only the first time!

WHY! Youth Ministries

Wesleyan Heavenly Youth

The mission of the Pretoria Wesleyan Church youth ministry is to actively invite every youth to commit to a personal relationship and everlasting adventure with Jesus Christ, mentoring them towards wholeness within a supportive church community, encouraging  and empowering them to actively serve the Lord and to bring love, healing and hope to the world.

We strive to achieve this by:

  • Providing a stimulating environment where a commitment to Christ is encouraged
  • Nurturing our youth towards personal and spiritual maturity through prayer, scripture reading, devotions, and Bible Study
  • Creating a safe and loving environment in which they can share their joys, fears, uncertainties, being supported and supporting one another in Christian love
  • Creating opportunities to guide our youth towards responsible decision-making in ethical & lifestyle choices
  • Teaching them the biblical way of conflict resolution
  • Fully integrating our youth programme with the congregational programme for mutual love and support.

Our youth programme includes healthy,  stimulating and interesting activities to:

  • Interact with other young people in a healthy Christian environment
  • Occupy their leisure time in a constructive and enjoyable manner which appeals to the modern young person
  • Create a meaningful outreach programme that helps young people realise their self-worth and service to their community
  • Inviting our youth to get actively involved in the various ministries of the Church (including our retirement centre and nursery school)
  • Encourage them to partner with the youth of the other churches in our denomination and with other churches in our community in as far as their teachings are not in conflict with our articles of faith from the Bible.

Please Join us Every Friday @ 18h30 for Youth Meetings and Every Sunday @ 18h00 for our Youth Services.

Sunday School Ministry

Sunday School Ministry Mission Statement

Proverbs 22:6  "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it."

At the Pretoria Wesleyan Church Sunday School Ministry we see the children as the future of our Church and strive to teach strong biblical values in our children from an early age. We strive to encourage our children to participate in the body of the Church and teach them that they too are members of the family of God. We strive to educate, as well as create a fun learning environment to teach our children all about our savior Jesus Christ. We strive to raise up children that will be earth changers and history makers for Christ.

 To do this we….

  1. Meet children at their level of development
  2. Fill children’s minds with the Word of God so they will grow to think the way God thinks and live the way God has commanded by learning a new scripture verse every month.
  3. Establish in children habits of Godly living as a daily lifestyle.
  4. Help children build proper relationships to the authorities in their lives.
  5. Help children trust Jesus Christ as their Savior, to submit to Him and to live as Christian’s wherever they are.
  6. Make each child’s experience safe, fun and educational.

The team meet once a week for practice for Sunday Morning Service and we share a time of fellowship together. It’s a great way to rejoice and Praise the Lord.

The Bible is our only authority for teaching and preaching and we do not have any human document, creed, book of office or book of prayer as additional authority. God is an orderly God and His Church is an orderly church. Therefore we do have a Church Discipline, containing our Articles of Religion, Church structure and history, membership requirements and commitments, procedures, etc. Ask the pastor if you need to see or obtain a copy of the Discipline.
