Serene Park Retirement Centre

The comfort of our residents is our sole aim and we are constantly looking at ways to ensure this.

Serene Park Retirement Centre (SPRC) is owned by the Wesleyan Church of Southern Africa, Trans-Natal district and is a ministry of the Pretoria Wesleyan Church. The SPRC has been in operation since 1987 in the Garsfontein area and operates on a “Life Rights” basis.

About us

The Center has 79 cottages (from 1 to 3 bedroom units) as well as 46 flats including bachelors that are within the main building.

There is also a Frail Care Unit, run by Care Vita available for the residents of the centre, should it be necessary.  Care Workers can also be arranged through Care Vita to assist those who need a little help every day.  The Frail Care is supervised by qualified nursing sisters with health care workers to assist with the patients or in emergencies.

A doctor from MenlynMed visits the center to do consultations on a weekly basis and can be contacted to do a home visit if necessary.

A physiotherapist is also available for appointments and assists the patients in our Frail Care.

SPRC is very close to the Menlyn Node and a Shuttler Service takes residents to Menlyn Shopping Center, Glen Fair Shopping Center and on Wednesdays for two and a half hours.
Lunch is provided daily and prepared by Taste Like Home. Breakfast can be provided if requested

There is also a Resident’s Committee that assist the Management Board  of the SPRC  (Chairman, Rev Dr Johnathan Goosen) by bringing residents’ needs to the attention of management.

Ps Dewaal Willemse is the Manager and she is ably assisted by Ms Annelie van der Bank, Mrs Rachel van Rensen and Ms Lisa Wilson.

The comfort of our residents is our sole aim and we are constantly looking at ways to ensure this.
